Noah’s Playroom – interior design for kids room – custom furniture
You have to meet Noah—a sweet little 17-month-old with the biggest smile and an adventurous spirit. He’s already giving high-fives like a pro! Designing this playroom was an exciting challenge!
The room itself is spacious—over 14 x 14 feet—which gave us both creative freedom and a bit of a headache when it came to building the swing structure.
To add to the challenge, Noah shares this playroom with his two older sisters—and often, their friends. So, I set out to design a space that felt magical for everyone. The key concept? Custom furniture tailored to their needs and dreams.
I considered every corner carefully: they needed a workstation for drawing and board games, generous storage, a play zone for the girls, and plenty of surprises to keep the whole family engaged.
What stands out the most in the playroom? That’s a tough question—because everywhere you look, something charming catches your eye!
Here are some of the highlights:
- A cozy playhouse with a soft mattress and two cushions.
- A large chalkboard wall for spontaneous drawings.
- Two dollhouses with storage inside, their doors shaped like charming old building facades.
- A versatile bar zone that transforms into a coffee shop or any marketplace the kids imagine.
All the furniture—from the bar canopy to the toy car and chairs—was personalized with the family and children’s names, creating a warm, shared space. The entire wall was designed to resemble a downtown street, complete with a theatre, home, mall, and shop. It’s the perfect stage for pretend play and social adventures.
Moving to the left side of the room, we arrive at Noah’s domain. After all, this little man has a mission!
His workstation was designed like a space training area. Why? Because Noah is off on an intergalactic journey—to rescue the animals of Earth and take them to a safer orbit. His zone includes:
- A capsule-shaped hammock.
- A space observation station.
- Swings for astronaut training.
- A climbing ladder for daring missions.
Since animals are one of Noah’s big passions, I took inspiration from the story of Noah’s Ark, bringing some gentle wildlife into the décor with a themed rug and wall details. A wooden seahorse, marked with measurement lines, tracks his growth through the years.
Most of the toys are timeless, made from sustainable wood. I believe great play comes from quality design—and wood offers both beauty and durability that can be passed down through generations.
About 90% of the furniture in this playroom was custom-designed and handmade in MINY WORLD’s workshop.
